Mastering StoryScrib

Step-by-step guides for migrating from Scrivener, configuring local offline AI, and mastering keyboard shortcuts.

1-Click Scrivener (.scriv) Migration

Preserve 100% of your outliner folders, scene texts, synopses, and notes.

StoryScrib contains a built-in native Scrivener parser designed to seamlessly ingest .scriv project directories and compressed .zip backups without requiring you to manually export individual Word or markdown files.

1 Open File Menu

In StoryScrib, click File > Import Scrivener Project (.scriv / .zip)...

2 Select Project File

Pick your .scriv folder or zipped archive directly from your hard drive.

  3. In StoryScrib, open Settings > AI & Diagnostics and select Ollama Local Backend (default URL http://127.0.0.1:11434).
  4. You now have a private AI co-author that runs completely offline with zero API subscriptions!
